Most of our out-of-town players elected to stay at the Budget Inn, 200 Murphy Dr, Lexington, NC 27292, 336-248-5172 (map), just 2½ miles past Lexington Triad Inn, south on Bus. 85. Manager Jack, matched Triad's king or double bed rates at $45 per night including tax. Budge Inn only has 32 rooms, so we were lucky to get 5 rooms. Although a low budget hotel, their rooms were nicer, cleaner, and the location was safer and seem to be more secure than Lexington Triad Inn which badly needs repair and renovation. The right side of the Lexington Triad Inn property was boarded up (office, lobby, breakfast area, and lots of their rooms). Only the left side was available. They had converted the first left outside room into a sales office.
